Unmasking the Economic Impact of Carnival on Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Vincy Mas is a major revenue generator for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The festival, which returned in 2022 after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, saw some strategic changes that resulted in increased revenue. The Miss SVG competition, a popular event during the festival, was relocated to a later date in the year, resulting in over $100,000 in gate receipts. Similarly, the Junior Panorama, a steelpan competition for young musicians, was moved from the carnival period to a later date in the year, contributing to the overall revenue.
